Shorthand Dictation Files?

Shorthand is a hobby of mine. Unfortunately, dictating at the slow speeds I need is not a hobby of anyone I know.
Dictation files keyed to the book are going up slowly. Very slowly. Help would be appreciated.

Shorthand is a hobby of mine. Unfortunately, dictating at the slow speeds I need is not a hobby of anyone I know. This will reformat a text file to something that a common (and free) speech synthesizer will dictate at the requested speed.

Also, check out the Gregg Shorthand group, now on Multiply. (MSN groups is closing soon.) Lots of good stuff for writers of all systems, and some stuff specific to Gregg.

RoseTrellis Skin?

I needed a skin to use on this site when I converted it to PmWiki. I rather like it.

Printing Paper

Some kids (like mine) who need a bit more room and guidance. This paper has two solid lines and then a dotted line and the spacing can be adjusted. It's an MSWord document.

How to clean HTML from MSWord

MSWord and several WYSYWIG HTML editors produce code that's anything but clean. It includes extra, unwanted formatting and sometimes even characters that will only work in one browser. Here are three ways to clean the HTML, without losing any formatting such as italics or headings.

Cricket's Incomplete Guide to Grammar and Punctuation

When beta-reading, I keep coming across the same things. So, rather than typing it out all the time, I've put it all in one place.

Finally have something!

Printing Paper

Special paper for kids who have problems staying between the lines when handwriting. This paper has two solid lines and then a dotted line. Which ones you put the letters between depends on you.

Let me know if you like it, or want it changed. I'm also working on one with colours between the spaces, so the grass letters are in the green section, dirt go into brown, and sky in the blue. Email me or use the feedback form if you want to know when it's done.

The second set has vertical lines as well. Only way to show it here is large spacing, but it's actually the same size as the other.

Attachment is here: printingpaper.doc Δ

Instructions

Any reasonably current version of MSOffice and/or MSWord will open it fine. So should most of their competitors.

The machine claims the spacing between the lines is 3mm, but it's not terribly exact.

To Print:

Works best on a colour printer.

To print the first one, select page 1 only, as many copies as you like. If you don't, every other page will be only half a page. (The extra lines are included in case you set the lines narrower.)

To print the second one, select page 3 only.

To Change Line Spacing:

Edit/Select All

Format/Paragraph
Line Spacing: Single
At: whatever you like
Be sure to include the units (pt is the default)

To Change Grid Spacing

Edit/Select All

Format/Tab
Default Tab/Default Tab Stops Again, be sure to include the units. You will then have to add or remove the "pipe" characters.
