Gatchaman Uniform Colours

For all those who have to keep looking up the info.

You may want to use the printable view for this page; the table's pretty wide.

Note: The colours are about as consistent as anything else in the show. These are the best I could come up with. It didn't help that different releases, computers, and even scenes in the same episode, show different colours. And some of the paint faded or went muddy-coloured.

Bonus points for anyone who can add to or correct. Dei, Mary, Sam, Evangelina, Wendy and Catherine get some of those points.

Civvie belts are all black.
Birdstyle belts are black with "G" buckle -- red "G" on yellow background.
Red Phoenix / arrow is on all birdstyle chests.
Communicators are yellow, orange or gold with a red dot.
Band is silver and blue.

[1] Jun's hair shifts between black and muddy green, and all shades in between. One theory is that black cell paint was expensive. Another is that they were trying to show that it was so black that there were green highlights; they usually use blue highlights for that these days.

Helmets

Ken: White with red around the face, a

red stripe going back, and a black triangle around a yellow circle around a blue eyespot. Antenna.

Joe: He's got two. The first is black, with brown around the face, a brown stripe going back, and a red-orange triangle around a yellow circle around a green eyespot.
The other one is like two overlapping triangles, one above the other (so there are two distinct backward facing points) - the top one is red, the lower one is brown.
Each of his helmets has an antenna.
Best guess is that the helmet design changes with the artist, or that they changed it and forgot to tell someone.
Jun: White, with orange triangles going back, black eye spots. Antenna.
Jinpei: Blue, with red around the face. No antenna.
Ryu: Green, with yellow lines around large green eyes with yellow iris and black pupil. No antenna. Ear tufts.

Weapons

Ken's Birdrang: white with blue middle and yellow tip.
Joe's Cable Gun: deep grey
Joe's Feather Shurikens: white
Joe's Exploding Pens: goldish

Why does Joe get so many?

Jun's YoYo Bomb: fuschia disk with metallic holder and black string
Jinpei's Bolos: blue and white
Ryu's Cable Gun: deep grey

Other People

Nambu: Very light blue suit jacket, Tan shirt, blue tie, brown vest, purple or brown hanky, brown shoes, brown hair and dark eyes.
Katse: Purple mask with light purple ear lining and chin-piece, yellow forehead mark and turquoise eyes. Body suit is same purple as mask, with white buttons, Black belt with large yellow buckle, Very dark purple cape with red lining, yellow tie, dark red / burgundy gloves and boots.
And coral lipstick.
